Description:
CIAA is a private, not for profit service agency serving seniors, individuals with disabilities, family caregivers, and grandparents raising grandchildren. One of 13 Area Agencies on Aging in Illinois and one of over 728 in the United States, CIAA is authorized by the Older Americans Act of 1965 as amended, Illinois Act on Aging, and the Illinois Department on Aging to provide services in Fulton, Marshall, Peoria, Stark, Tazewell, Woodford, and Knox counties.

Description
The Central Illinois Agency on Aging provides aging and older adult support groups. These groups provide assistance, referrals, and advocacy to relatives regardless of their age or economic status; training to caregivers and professionals; and funding for the establishment and maintenance of support groups as well as conferences, workshops, and emergency assistance.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Must be a grandparent, age 55 or over, raising a grandchild or grandchildren.
Relatives as Parents Program: Relatives, regardless of age or economic status, of a child involved in the raising of that child.

Description
Older persons will have their medications screened to identify medication-related problems and errors that may endanger the lives who participate in health promotion programs.
This service is provided by trained staff utilizing a computer system and appropriate data collection materials working in conjunction with a pharmacist or other medication expert. The program consists of individualized screening, assessment, and alert process to identify medication problems.
