Developmental Disabilities Day Habilitation Programs
Community-based programs that provide supportive services for adults with developmental disabilities who have indicated that they wish to develop skills in the areas of community involvement, self-advocacy, self-care and/or employment training. Many may transition into supported employment or other more independent settings in the community as a result of the training. Participants generally need sustained support and direction in developing the ability to interact with others, to make their needs known, and to respond to instructions.
Developmental Disabilities Social/Recreational Programs
Community-based day programs that provide training in community integration and self-advocacy specifically as they relate to recreation and leisure pursuits. Participants are generally adults age 18-22 with developmental disabilities who are still in school and desire an after-school program or are older than age 22 but are not working or are working part-time.
