Psychiatric Intensive Outpatient Programs

Programs that provide treatment for individuals who have acute or chronic mental, emotional or behavioral disorders who require a level of care more intense than psychiatric day treatment or psychosocial rehabilitation therapy, but less intense than a partial hospitalization program (PHP). Services include a medically supervised plan of care that provides an individualized comprehensive evaluation, medication management, individual, group and/or family therapy; social and recreational activities; and a range of adjunctive therapies in a structured setting. The program typically requires at least 9 hours per week and can extend up to 19 hours.
