Eligibility:
In-home assistance: Individuals age 60 and older. Those 59 and under should contact their local Illinois Department of Human Services-Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) office.
Adult Protective Services Program: Individuals 18 to 59 with a disability and 60 or older.
Ombudsman Program: Individuals 18 to 59 with a disability and 60 or older that live in a skilled home nursing facility or assisted living.
Other programs vary in their eligibility requirements, so please call.

Alternatives for the Older Adult offers support for anyone caring for a senior, and for grandparents raising their grandchildren. In addition to the support groups that meet once a month, workshops and counseling are available.

Alternativesâ Care Coordinators are experts in the field of aging (certified by the Illinois Department on Aging) who will sit down and help develop a plan of care that will meet the individualâs/caregiverâs needs so that they can remain in their homes for a longer period of time.

The Money Management Program is a volunteer program that matches trained and bonded volunteers with seniors who need help managing their finances. The volunteers can organize and pay bills, establish and maintain budgets, assist in applying for financial programs and assist with setting and achieving financial goals.
