NNEDV is the leading voice for domestic violence victims and their advocates. As a membership and advocacy organization of state domestic violence coalitions, allied organizations and supportive individuals, NNEDV works closely with its members to understand the ongoing and emerging needs of domestic violence victims and advocacy programs. Then NNEDV makes sure those needs are heard and understood by policymakers at the national level.
NNEDV offers a range of programs and initiatives to address the complex causes and far-reaching consequences of domestic violence. Through cross-sector collaborations and corporate partnerships, NNEDV offers support to victims of domestic violence who are escaping abusive relationships ! and empowers survivors to build new lives.
NNEDV further supports the fight to end domestic violence by providing state coalitions with critical information and resources. From training and technical assistance to innovative programs and strategic funding, NNEDV brings much-needed resources to local communities. At NNEDV's national and regional meetings, members share information and ideas with NNEDV staff and with each other, working together to develop comprehensive solutions.

Census Project.
Description
NNEDV's Census Project runs the U.S. National Census of Domestic Violence Services (Census). This is an annual noninvasive, unduplicated count of adults and children who seek services from U.S. domestic violence shelter programs during a single 24-hour survey period. Conducted by NNEDV, this Census takes into account the dangerous nature of domestic violence by using a survey designed to protect the confidentiality and safety of victims.

Coalition Project.
Description
U.S. state and territorial domestic violence coalitions provide critical leadership in coordinating efforts to end violence against women, addressing systemic barriers facing battered women and their children, and, strengthening domestic violence services. NNEDV's Coalition Capacity Project provides comprehensive, specialized technical assistance and training to the coalitions in order to best address the needs of victims and local domestic violence programs. The coalitions have access to technical assistance regarding best practices at the national level.

NNEDV's WomensLaw Project provides easy-to-understand legal information and resources to women living with or escaping domestic violence or sexual assault. By reaching out through the Internet, WomensLaw.org empowers women and girls to lead independent lives, free from abuse. WomensLaw.org was founded in February 2000 and became a project of NNEDV in 2010.

Financial Management.
Description
NNEDVâs Economic Justice project was founded to respond to, address, and prevent financial abuse. We work to: -Strengthen victim advocatesâ financial capabilities to better assist survivors of domestic violence moving from short-term safety to long-term security. Using the Moving Ahead through Financial Management curriculum, we employ our signature Train-the-Trainer approach to deliver financial literacy lessons to victim advocates across the United States through our network of state and territory domestic violence coalitions and their local member programs. Support survivors of domestic violence in rebuilding credit scores damanged as a result of financial abuse through our Independence Project. Inform advocates about personal finance tools, resources, and the most recent research available in the field of financial literacy and capability through NNEDV's exclusive listservs and newsletters.
