Center for Prevention of Abuse- Heart of IL Safe from the Start

Description:

The Center for Prevention of Abuse is the only agency in the State of Illinois to provide combined services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, and elder abuse. The Center also reaches students age 0 to 5 with violence prevention education, as well as counseling for children who are exposed to violence.

Hours:

24/7 for everything except-

Adult Protective Services line (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). To report suspected abuse or neglect of a senior (age 60 or over) or a disabled adult (age 18-59) after hours, call the regular Center for Prevention of Abuse line or the state line 1-866-800-1409. If the person is in danger, call 911.

Eligibility:

Children 0 to 5 who have been exposed to some type of violence. May be victims or observers of violence, abuse, neglect, or exploitation. May take older children if there is a child in the household in the 0 to 5 age range. Serves Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties.
