Description:

The National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) is a WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) initiative that helps eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their family members get education and training, improve job skills, obtain good-paying jobs with benefits, and/or advance in agricultural careers.

The NFJP offers Career and Training Services that may help you enroll into a short-term job training or college program and pay for class tuition. You may even be able to receive a stipend while you are attending school.

Services also include assistance with creating a resume, practicing interview skills, looking for and finding a job, accessing supportive services, and staying employed for the long term.

The program is free Veterans receive priority services.

Hours:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Eligibility:

Must meet all of the following-

-US Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.

-Have done farm work in the last two years (e.g., work with crops, corn detailing, orchards, livestock, fishery, poultry, seed production, or other related farm work).

-Family is low income (e.g., receives public assistance or is un/under employed).

-If male and 18 years old or older, is registered with the Selective Service.
