Sober Living America

Description:

Sober Living America (SLA) offers sites throughout the U.S. (including DuPage County in Illinois, and St. Louis) that are open to anyone and provide a variety of services to assist those struggling with addiction:

-Housing: Connects the person with roommates who are also in recovery in a self-supporting and democratically-run apartment.

-Recovery Education

-Transportation: Assistance to get to work, church, AA/NA meetings, the store, etc.

Hours:

Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, and Holidays: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Intake Process:

Please call. Same day admissions when possible.

Program Fees:

No Admission or Application Fees if the person has no income
If the person has a monthly income, such as SSI or SSDI, then a sliding scale is used.

At most locations, the charge is $225 per week, which includes everything except food and hygiene. Once the person starts working and receiving a paycheck, then they start paying on their program fees.

The Pinnacle Program, which is the most intensive program and is broken into 30-day blocks, costs $1,890 per month.

None of the programs are covered by insurance.

Eligibility:

Anyone in need.

The only individuals who cannot be accepted are sex offenders and anyone with recent violent crimes. That said, Sober Living America does report monthly to all probation/parole officers, courts and public defenders etc. if requested.

-Be willing to participate in the curriculum and all program features
-Be willing and able to work (unless the resident receives SSI or participating in the Pinnacle Program, which is a more intensive program)
-All medications brought to the facility need to be approved
