Programs that help nonprofit organizations and other groups select and effectively utilize a board of directors or advisory group. The program may target prospective board members, current board members, chief executive officers, staff, corporations with nonprofit board service programs, funding organizations, management service organizations, training personnel or consultants working in the nonprofit sector.

Credentialing Program Development and Management Support

Programs that help nonprofit organizations, small businesses, government entities or other groups develop, implement, manage and evaluate an accreditation, certification or licensing program. Also included are programs that help individuals and/or organizations prepare and apply for licensing, certification or accreditation status. Certification and accreditation programs are voluntary, private initiatives whereas licensure is generally a government regulatory requirement which mandates that individuals or organizations be licensed in order to conduct their business.

Financial Management Support

Programs that provide consultation, training or contractual services for human service organizations, small businesses and other groups that need assistance in effectively planning and managing their financial affairs. Included are assistance in budget formulation, budget review and fiscal accountability as well as help in selecting, installing and managing a cost-effective and efficient accounting system.

Fundraising and Resource Development Support

Programs that help nonprofit organizations and other groups raise money to support their programs and services or raise money on behalf of other organizations as a service; help unincorporated organizations achieve fiscal sponsorship in order to obtain funding; and ensure that these organizations understand and comply with federal, state and local charitable solicitation regulations when they implement their fundraising plan.

Human Resources Management Support

Programs that provide assistance for nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups that need help in the engagement and effective utilization of professional, paraprofessional and/or clerical staff to achieve program goals and objectives.

Information Technology Management Support

Programs that help nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups (and, in some cases, individuals) evaluate their information technology needs, develop an information technology plan and obtain the hardware, software, telecommunication systems, Internet access, website development, network management, and maintenance and support services they require to support the mission and goals of their agency.

Networking/Relationship Building Support

Programs that help nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups develop and/or participate in coalitions, collaborations, community engagement programs, community organizing projects, advocacy efforts, strategic alliances and other cooperative working relationships in which participating organizations have a common mission and an interest in improved efficiency, increased ability to obtain grant funding, a stronger voice in advocacy and an improved ability to serve their clients.

Organizational Assessment and Evaluation Support

Programs that help nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups design and implement evaluation studies and select or devise evaluation tools with the objective of improving their overall effectiveness and efficiency, making good use of their resources and achieving their mission.
